MONSOON MUST-HAVES FOR *IT GIRLS*

Monsoon Must-Haves for *It Girls*

written by Payal Thaker

Every weather comes with its own challenges and ‘It Girls’ in town somehow always stay graceful under any type of circumstances. They’re always so glam despite all that’s happening around them. So one fine evening I encountered some always stylish and gorgeous ladies, and asked them what hidden beauty secrets they always follow when the Rain Gods take over our Country.

So without wasting any further time, here are their answers for getting that Glam On-point look, no matter what:

monsoon-odomos1. Mosquito Repellents: Please don’t even try to tell me that it smells, and that’s the reason you can’t use it before you go out on a fine rainy evening for date night…because girl, you TOTALLY can! And trust me, NO guy wants to catch a glimpse of you scratching your legs and then share a dessert. GROSS!! And of course
you don’t want to catch Malaria and cancel all your future fun dates and trips. 😉

HOT TIP: Apply a Mosquito Repellent, like Dabur Odomos Naturals, and top it with a few drops of Lavender Oil or Rose Oil to kill the odor before stepping outside the house.

I feel ya even more during this weather where even the driest part of your body gets oily, sticky, and greasy. You know what I mean right? LOL. Well yeah, so in order to avoid looking like you’re a walking factory of oil, just do all of us a favor and carry a Dry shampoo with you, and use it every 6 hours.

HOT TIP: Use a good Dry shampoo like BBlunt Back To Life. Massage your scalp for a few minutes until the white powder disappears, and now you are ready to go!! Your scalp should feel fresh and your hair should be Voluminous and Glossy.

3. Say Goodbye to Makeup Brushes: I’ve said this before and I will say it again, using a Foundation Brush or a regular Latex Sponge will simply make your face look Cakey and Heavy. And the problem is NOT your Foundation or Concealer, but it’s your Applicator. Instead, try using good quality Latex-Free Sponges just like Beauty Blender, or YBP MakeupPerfector, and see how your makeup game changes in seconds! I’m not just saying this because I made this product, but because I have a Super oily skin and I know the struggle of getting that perfect Base. Normal sponges eat up your product and you keep on reapplying coats over coats. Great quality sponges like BB or MP will use very little product and cover your pores from 360 degrees around Without making your face look loaded with makeup.

HOT TIP: Use your wet BB or MP Sponge with a translucent powder to set everything after you’re done with applying your Foundation and Concealer. This way it will lock everything on the skin and keep your makeup from moving all day after application.

4. Blotting Paper: Ladies listen up! Every single time your skin tends to get oily, you don’t have to load it up with more powder! Powder is only going to soak up that oil in 5 seconds, and then when your skin starts producing oil again all that powder will start to settle in your facial lines, making you look darker, older, like a barren wasteland. Don’t mind, but that’s true. Every time I see someone struggling with oily skin my first advice to them is Please ditch your powder ASAP.

HOT TIP: Use a good Primer before you start applying your makeup. It will hold your makeup longer than the usual and will also decrease the size of your pores. Always carry good quality Blotting Tissues, like The Body Shop Tea Tree Blotting Tissues, and use it any time you want to touch up your makeup. These Blotting Tissues are infused with Tea Tree Oil and are especially made for Blemished skin which is acne prone. I like these a lot. Each sheet has a wonderful Tea Tree fragrance to it. It absorbs all the excess oil from my Face and while doing so, it will also nourish your skin.

5. A Good Toner: Kill them Bacteria!! Large pores = Dirty pores = Acne + Acne. One thing I never forget to do for my bedtime routine is clean my pores with a good Alcohol-free Toner. I like to keep my skin squeaky clean before I hit the bed, and before I apply any heavy duty Night Creams I have to use a Toner no matter how tired or sick I am. In Monsoon, I double the times. This weather can make your skin Very greasy, and it’s Highly recommended to clean it with a good Toner so you don’t get any skin infections or big acne.

HOT TIP: Never have I ever used a better Toner than Plum Goodness Alcohol Free Green Tea Toner. It refreshes my skin and makes it feel so clean. I am literally obsessed with it!
